It's our 80th episode. We can sit on the mothers' pew at church now. But instead of giving out old, crusty and half melted pieces of strawberry candies, we got some good podcasting for y'all.
Controversy stepped tew this week in the culture, much of it surrounding Kulture’s parents. Now keep in mind this episode was recorded prior to Offset becoming Midset, but we give our thoughts on the Sets (the B’s??) and we wish them happiness and blessings moving forward. Kodak had his spat with Ebro which led to some scandal. He also dropped off his new project, Dying to Live, which we discuss in this episode. Then some random woman many people are unaware of told gospel legend Pastor John P. Kee to “…shut up and preach.” Y’all wilin, fam. Keep up the good work, Krit.
Calico Syd was out living her best life this weekend (HBD, Sydney!!!) so we made the easy decision to bring in more family. Good Culture’s own Lauren Whiteman (@itsmewhiteman) joins the discussion with Kenny and T. Lee as we discuss Meek’s new project and other stories surrounding his album.
This is what happens when one of us is drunk, one of us is on a high and one of us is trying to stay unwashed. And all of this is without a script.
Yeah we byke byke. We choppin’ it up on white rapper complexes, the Dallas chicken trinity and Florida man (in a good way, surprisingly). We also get into culture tv and discuss what’s going on with the Issas and Ghosts of the world. Kanye is still Ye’in, Bron still goatin’ and we’re still the best start to your workweek.
Black all weekend. From Thursday all the way through Obama's Day, it was a celebration of our heritage on a level rarely seen. From musical contributions to the big screen to the Staples Center, we trapped in Wakanda all weekend and the Good Culture podcast wraps it up in style.
According to Quincy Jones
Where's your chill, fam?
According to the Good Culture Podcast crew, Quincy Jones' interview needed to be discussed on wax. What's true? What's false? Where are his meds? Is he a snitchin ass bitch? While we can't answer all of those, among other things we do have answers for the following:
Is there Trappin in Wakanda? Yes
Is Bangers & Brunch making a big return to Dallas? Fuckin right.
Our takes on the Grammys, Culture II, Timberlake's new album and Super Bowl LII. We're 10 days away from Black Panther, Good People!!!!
It was time. New host, same energy, more life. It was a weekend dedicated to those at the top of their craft displaying that they should never be doubted. If you doubted that we'd be back, you were wrong. If you doubted that the Baddie Godmother would expand her brand into podcasting, you were wrong. If you doubted that we'd talk our shit in this episode, you were wrong. It's scary hours for the haters. 2018 is going to be powerful.
Summer vacation was cool and all, but it's time we get back to this best shit.
Henny-N-Wingz. Bangers & Brunch, Cowboys and Redskins, Dallas and D. C. It all makes too much sense, and who better to connect with than the DJ that can call both places home. DJ Nitecrawler joins us to discuss his craft, his aspirations, his background and the movement that is Henny-N-Wingz. A little shit talk, a little motivation, a lotta moves. D.C. came to the city and showed major love. We gone return that favor. #SayLess.
We staying true to self in this episode. Music and anti f**k boys. We also talk our shit a little.
It's almost June, Bron is dominating and DAMN. is still great. It's championship szn, good people, and we at Good Culture don't sit out this time of year. Kenny, T. Lee and Lauren are back to provide what your Mondays have been missing. If you snack on hot cheetos, we got you. If you enjoy being student debt free (courtesy of Nicki, not us, fam), we got you. If you like to write dope shit about dope shit, we got you. But if you wear romphims, we DO NOT have you, fam. We got something to say. Less.
It's no secret that sports are important to the guys of the Good Culture podcast. With Lauren enjoying the smells of traffic, 6th Street and weed in Austin, we had the luxury of welcoming our first pro athlete into the studio, Jalen Mills, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback. We were able to discuss the life of an NFL player, the challenges that come with the job both on and off the field and what bachelor life is like in Philly. #SayLess and press play, fam.
Do not wait to purchase your Bangers & Brunch tickets, presale tickets are nearly sold out!!!!
