We try our damnedest to understand Savage the 21st’s legal troubles and weigh in with our opinions. White people are still cuttin’ up so our issues with Liam and Gucci get…taken…to wax. But not all hope is lost, Nicki rapped real bars, black banks step into the spotlight and black girls are creating dope art. Full disclosure this was recorded pre-Grammys.
So it turns out that there was some leftover trash from a particular R&B singer and new trash from some people connected to him. We even have to revisit the covering/lid war of 2018 because…..trash there too. We then reach the trash debatable portion of the episode which will probably resurface at some point. Not all things culture were negative this week, though, thus the name of this episode.
Last week was mad real. We got cops killing people enjoying the privacy of their own home and the rap game lost a super talent. Cardi tried to harm Nicki, but walked away with a knot upside her own forehead. That's a lot to digest and we still got our jokes off with another set of rankings for y'all.
It's almost June, Bron is dominating and DAMN. is still great. It's championship szn, good people, and we at Good Culture don't sit out this time of year. Kenny, T. Lee and Lauren are back to provide what your Mondays have been missing. If you snack on hot cheetos, we got you. If you enjoy being student debt free (courtesy of Nicki, not us, fam), we got you. If you like to write dope shit about dope shit, we got you. But if you wear romphims, we DO NOT have you, fam. We got something to say. Less.
If you're at a good party in Dallas, there's a good chance you're enjoying the talents of DJ Phife. We got a chance to have him in the studio with us to discuss his introduction to the craft and how he's grown to have his own hit single, "Turn It" feat. SVPA & Lil Ronny Motha F. With his wealth of knowledge on the music industry and the club/party scene the culture discussion was spirited and inspirational. #SayLess and press play, fam.
Do not wait to purchase your Bangers & Brunch tickets, presale tickets are nearly sold out!!!!
Cosign Magazine is a media brand dedicated to telling the stories of the people that drive the culture forward. We were lucky enough to get the brand's founder, KG, in the studio to discuss both his story and the story of Cosign. Of course we took a detour to discuss the beautiful Rosa Acosta and of course we had to discuss an eventful past few weeks in the culture. While we didn't get More Life from Drake, Nicki isn't necessarily dead. Also, Jay Z is enjoying more success and making more waves. Kanye, this is what happens when you avoid the sunken place. Say less and press play, fam.
Do not wait to purchase your Bangers & Brunch tickets as they are going fast and there will be limited sales at the door.
